World Book Encyclopedia Online Reference Center (Remote access requires MARINet library card & PIN.)
Online access to all articles from the print version plus additional articles updated monthly, an online dictionary, and a Spanish language encyclopedia, the Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos.

FamilySearch
Search the Family History Library sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church).

Find a Grave
Billed as "the world's largest online cemetery," this site helps you search famous and non-famous graves. Includes cemetery search.

ObitFinder
Search for obituaries from over 225 U.S. and Canadian newspapers.

RootsWeb.com
Free genealogy site supported by Ancestry.com, a fee-based site. While much is available for free, many links connect to Ancestry.com.

USGenWeb Project
Ambitious volunteer project committed to providing free access to state and county records for every U.S. state.

Search Systems
Public record locator with links to over 25,000 free, searchable public records databases.
