Volunteering at the Library

The library has a group of more than 150 committed, energetic volunteers working in the library and serving on various committees. Their participation ensures that the library is a central, dynamic part of the community. The library has five departments - Reference, Circulation, Children's, Technical Services, and Administration. All departments are focused on bringing library information, cultural, and educational services and resources to the community.

Volunteers are involved in all areas. They work on fund raising, endowment planning, programming, technology, art displays, landscaping, building concerns, collection development, homebound delivery of library materials, shelving, book mending and processing, acquisitions, public training on the Internet, and emergency response planning.

If you are interested in participating in the Volunteer Program, please call 789-2665, ext. 226.

If you are a student inquiring about community service hours, please call the Children's Department at 789-2665 ext. 225.
