Library Cards and Borrowing Information

Library Cards
If you do not already have a card for a Marin library (All Marin County Public, San Rafael, Sausalito, San Anselmo, Larkspur, and Mill Valley cards are accepted at Belvedere-Tiburon Library) then you can apply online by clicking the link below.

Loan Periods
3 weeks: Books, paperbacks, taped books and CDs, compact discs, children's materials.

1 week: DVDs, Videocassettes, and books from the
"Bestsellers" (7-Day) collection.

Item Limits
   Books: 50 books total per card (other limits may apply)
   Books on CD or tape: 5 total per card
   CDs: 10 total per card
   DVDs & VHS: 10 items per card

Fines and Charges
Fines for late materials and other fees are paid at the Circulation desk.

Per item fines:
   Adult materials: $.25/day and $7 maximum per title
   Bestsellers Collection: $.50/day and $7 maximum per title
   Children's materials: $.10/day and $2 maximum per title
   Adult Videos: $1/day and $7 maximum per title
   Children's Videos: $1/day and $5 maximum per title
   DVDs: $1/day and $10 maximum per title
   Magazines $.50/Day

Other charges:
   Copy machine: $.10/page
   Printing: $.10/page
   Lost library cards: $1.00
   Interlibrary loan, MARINet: $ .50
   Interlibrary loan, Bay Area: $1.00
   Interlibrary loan, National: $2.00
   Lost or damaged items: replacement cost + $6 processing fee

Returning Materials
Borrowed items may be returned in any of the library's book returns. To prevent damage and a fine charge, please do not force items into the slots or leave books, etc. outside of the returns.

If you must return DVDs, CDs, or Audiocassettes in the bookdrop, please either wrap the items with a rubber band or put them in a bag to prevent the cases from opening up.
